It’s been a long summer and maybe you’ve been going on long road trips or commuting to work blasting the a/c. Summers can put a lot of wear and tear on your vehicle. It may be prudent to see if it’s time for an oil change for your vehicle.
An oil change is typically around every 3,000 to 5,000 miles but it’s important to consult your manual and check the factory recommended maintenance. Trust your local AAMCO Utah location to change out your oil and oil filter for your vehicle.
Today, your car shouldn’t be emitting visible exhaust from the exhaust pipe. If you notice visible smoke escaping from your exhaust, this can be a serious cause for concern. Usually, visible exhaust smoke indicates that your oil is way past due for a change and isn’t properly lubricating the engine anymore. Other possible issues that can cause visible exhaust involve the engine more directly.
AAMCO Utah can assist with any oil changes or engine problems you may be experiencing with your vehicle. We can perform a multi point inspection on your vehicle to diagnose and address any problems with your vehicle. Schedule an appointment today .
It’s important to periodically check your oil in your reservoir to make sure your oil levels are at proper levels. Simply pop the hood after the car cools down and look for the top of the dipstick near the front or center of the engine block.
Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean and reinsert it into the reservoir. Pull out the dipstick again and see where the oil levels are on the indicator on the dipstick. If the level is below the mark, it is okay to temporarily top off the oil but you’re probably due for an oil change.
It’s important to service your car if the oil levels are low because there may be a leak or you may be seriously overdue for an oil change. Low oil levels can cause permanent engine damage and can put you at risk for breaking down .
Schedule an oil change service with AAMCO Utah today which includes a new oil filter, new oil change out, multi point inspection and lubrication of grease fittings.
When your car oil needs to be changed, it can affect the performance of your engine. If your oil is really dirty or is low, it can lag behind on lubricating your engine and as a result, your engine may shake or vibrate while operating due to increased levels of friction. If you find that your engine is causing your car to shake or vibrate while idling, this is usually a sign that it is very much time for an oil change.
It is best to avoid idling your car in the meantime until you get an oil change. Don’t let this problem continue, get to your local AAMCO Utah location for an oil service .
